CHANGING LIVES - NOT JUST TEACHING FACTS!
The Grandeur of Christianity and The Revolutionary Age
The Renaissance – The Reformation – The Enlightenment
What could give unity and meaning to life and to morals? Between 1000 AD and 1900 AD three great movements would attempt to answer this question. Which movement would reflect the biblical world view? The Renaissance returns to the ideas of the Greeks - "rebirthing" their thoughts and re-introducing their ideas into the stream of Western Civilization. The Reformation turns to Revelation for unity and meaning to life. What would happen when a society embraces Reformation thought? The answer to this question is the focus of Year II - The Grandeur of Christianity. The Enlightenment rejected Revelation in deference to Man's Reason. Man is now set free from God to determine his own destiny. This movement would set the stage for the 20th Century and Year III of World Views of the Western World.
